Ian Basser has over 20 years experience in starting, running and building service companies around the world. Ian has built businesses in Australia, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, USA, UK and Europe. In addition he has extensive experience working with clients in assessing, recruiting and retaining people.

Most recently Ian has been the COO of a $450m rev UK listed recruitment and IT services firm. Over the last 3 years he has instigated a major leadership and cultural change project helping to turn the company from $38m loss to profit. The focus of this change program was introducing a new set of values and management standards across the organisation.

Previous to that Ian worked for a major Australian entertainment and media group responsible for developing new businesses and for Human Capital management across the group. His previous experience was as a member of the management team of one of the world’s leading recruitment groups. In this role he developed new businesses in many of the world’s most competitive markets and recruited senior management for clients such as GE, Goldman Sachs, Philips, Merrill Lynch, Diageo, Philip Morris, Proctor and Gamble and HSBC to name a few.

Ian brings to Mettle Group the hands on experience of running large and small companies across a variety of cultures. He possess the practical experience of having the responsibility of implementing leadership and cultural change programs from within the organisation and is now using that experience to assist other companies do the same.

Ian is a highly regarded facilitator of leadership and change programs. His special emphasis is on pragmatic and practical ways to embed changes in mindsets and behaviours that are in alignment with the overall strategic business plan of an organisation.
