This program combines the deep corporate credibility of Mettle’s approach to leadership and team development with the undeniable power and inspiration of Outward Bound’s wilderness based experiential learning techniques.

Who is Outward Bound Australia?

Outward Bound Australia (OBA) is Australia’s largest and most reputable school of outdoor education. Outward Bound was established in 1944 in England and has been operating in Australia since 1956. Their mission is to help all Australians discover, develop and achieve their potential through the medium of experiential and wilderness based learning. Their philosophy is perfectly aligned with that of Mettle Group – indeed “discovering your potential” is synonymous with “finding your mettle”.

What does the program look like?

Mettle and OBA have co-designed a 2 night / 2 day off-site intensive team development program. It begins with evening sessions on the fundamentals of team formation and development, then continues with workshop sessions interwoven with experiential activities designed to embed the lessons and learning. The program will involve one night “out” in the surrounding national park, and one high impact wilderness activity.

What benefits does the program deliver?

It will accelerate the formation of new teams, refocus and reinvigorate existing teams and iron out dysfunction in struggling teams. It can also be customized around an executive team’s need to address strategic or business issues – with time structured into the program for facilitated strategy workshops.
